This month is National Diabetes Month and the National Diabetes Education Program has several tips to help you take control of your life.
“Change begins with just one step” the program touts. So how exactly do you want to do that?
- Decide how much weight you want to lose. Set that goal.
- How will you do it – move more? Make healthier food choices?
- How often will you move? How long, how often each week?
- How will you eat better – avoid sugary drinks, choose lean meats, etc.
Then, make your plan. They offer a handy sheet you can print and fill out yourself.
Hang it on your fridge to remind yourself of your goals.
